Join us starting on October 13 at Norrsken House Barcelona for a 24-hour Fixathon, hosted during this year’s Impact/Week.

Countries have committed to the Paris Agreement, but commitments alone do not move fast enough. That is why we are bringing together builders to fix what's missing, and turn ideas into reality in just 24 hours.

There is probably no better place to do this than Impact/Week, where Europe’s leading founders, funders, thinkers, and doers come together to accelerate solutions for people and planet.

Participants will get full access to Impact/Week, budget support for travel and accommodation expenses, and selected teams will also have the opportunity to present their ideas in a live demo on October 15.

What Is a Fixathon and How Does It Work?

A Fixathon is like a hackathon, but focused on solving real-world challenges that need fixing. In 24 hours, participants collaborate in teams to turn ideas into applicable solutions or working prototypes, using AI and open tools. Curious about previous solutions? This Fixathon takes place at Norrsken House Barcelona before and during Norrsken Impact/Week, from October 13-15. Participants will kick off the Fixathon on October 13, spend 24 hours developing their solutions, and wrap up the Fixathon together. On October 15, participants can explore Impact/Week and selected teams will have the opportunity to present their solutions during a live demo. The full agenda and activities will be shared with selected participants closer to the event.

Who Can Apply and Do I Need Coding Skills?

Anyone passionate about solving meaningful problems is welcome to apply. No previous hackathon experience is required, and coding skills are not mandatory. However, having coding experience can be an advantage.

You can apply individually or together as a group. If you apply alone or as a team of two, we will match you with additional participants to complete your team. Teams will consist of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 people.

What Makes a Great Team & Team Matching

The best teams combine different skills and perspectives. Diversity in backgrounds, thinking, and experience helps unlock stronger ideas and more impactful solutions.

We carefully review all applications and primarily match teams based on complementary skills, ensuring that every team has a strong mix of people and perspectives. Everyone will be informed of their team ahead of the event, giving participants time to connect in advance.

What Do Participants and Winners Receive?

In addition to the Fixathon program and activities, all participants will receive full access to Norrsken Impact/Week, including its events and networking opportunities. Selected teams will also be invited to present their solutions in a live demo on October 15. The rest remains a secret for now.

If you are traveling from outside Barcelona, we will support you with travel expenses. Note that chosen participants are responsible for booking their own travel and accommodation, and reimbursements will only be processed after the Fixathon (receipts required). More details will be shared with selected participants closer to the event.

How Do I Know If I Got Selected?

You will receive an email from us confirming whether you have secured a spot. We will stay in touch via email with more information about the schedule, logistics, and practical details ahead of the event. Please be aware that this might take a few weeks, since we will review all applications carefully.
