About Jacqueline Novogratz

Jacqueline Novogratz is the founder and CEO of Acumen, a global organization that fights poverty and builds dignity through patient investment in companies and leaders. She pioneered the concept of patient capital and, through Acumen, has impacted more than 700 million lives across Africa, South Asia, Latin America and the United States. Under her leadership, Acumen manages about $500 million in investments and has trained 2,000 social innovators through Acumen Academy.

As a serial social entrepreneur, Novogratz co-founded Rwanda’s first microfinance bank, launched the Philanthropy Workshop and Next Generation Leaders program at the Rockefeller Foundation, and co-founded Anew, a community space and incubator in New York for social entrepreneurs. She began her career in international banking with Chase Manhattan Bank. She is the author of The Blue Sweater and Manifesto for a Moral Revolution, and has been recognized by Forbes as one of the “100 Greatest Living Business Minds.” She holds an MBA from Stanford and a BA from the University of Virginia.
